International travellers can’t visit the park as
Japan’s borders are still closed. Osaka’s state of
emergency was only lifted earlier this month.

A BATTLE WITH
BOWSER JR.
In December. Shigeru Miyamoto. the creator
of Super Mario Bros gave a virtual tour
of the park.
While describing himself as Mario’s “Dad”,
he said, “There are smaller activities like coin
block, as well as bigger ones… If you manage
to get 3 keys. you can take on the final activity
– a battle with Bowser

RIDE ON YOSHI
A treasure hunt themed ride,
visitors get a chance to hang on to Yoshi
as they search for Captain Toad and
experience the view of the Mushroom
Kingdom from Mount Beanpole.

WORLD OF MARIO
COMES ALIVE
Super Nintendo World offers an immersive
game experience in which guests can
compete against other gamers.
Music from the popular Mario games plays
throughout the park and visitors can jump up,
punch “question blocks” & collect virtual coins
through Power-up Bands, just like
the Italian plumber.

RACE TO VICTORY!
The park boasts the world’s first
interactive Mario Kart theme ride.
Guests ride sporting an augmented
reality headset attached to a red cap.
challenge enemies and aim for the

The long-awaited Super Nintendo World,
modelled on levels in Nintendo’s Mario
games, welcomed guests at Universal
Studios Japan in Osaka.
The park which cost about $0.5bn
finally opened after Covid delays.
